The Morningstar Deliverance Tabernacle Church is facing a budget crunch and is about $100,000 in debt. Concerned about paying its mortgage and utility bills, the church is seeking donations via Craigslist.

Maybe God said to him, “what have you in your house?”. Kind of like Elijah did with the widow who was going to lose her sons to the creditors. He may be just starting with what he has available to him.
It’s not what I would do, but it certainly put the financial plight of his local church out there so people could have an opportunity to share in the blessing of helping out a member of God’s family.

In a tough market, offerings are down and I don’t blame the church for looking to Craigslist for donations since it is a very popular website. Just like all types of classifieds church or health classifieds are on the rise.
