I got a real kick out of this this morning. You will too, if you've ever watched Glee. This is an Easter promo from Mariners Church. See what you think:
Thanks for Scott McClellan and Collide for finding this one!

I have secretly enjoyed Glee (don’t tell anyone!). Maybe I am just in a sourpuss mood or maybe I just don’t get it. It’s an Easter Promo right? No Jesus, no resurrection, no empty tomb? Heck no bunny, candy or eggs even.
I guess, for me…in other words my opinion, this video just doesn’t have any creativity. It’s point seems to be have a laugh by ripping off Glee (they really did do a GREAT job replicating the Glee formula).
I’m not trying to be critical, but somebody help me get it.
all about Christ,

David:
Hey, if you’re not hip enough to understand thirtysomething megachurch workers and volunteers dancing around in the manner of a teenage-focused television show and figure out how it relates to the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, I have to honestly wonder if you’ve not stepped outside of orthodoxy.
Please go listen to some Jonas Brothers for help—you can watch Band Camp or the Saddleback services at Angels stadium, because they sang the same song in both places anyway.

CS with the sarcasm score.

One more thing. As someone who works in IT, I just need to say that if someone walked up to you and said, “You just got server-ed,” that person would have all of their accounts deleted pretty quickly.
Sometimes humor should be left to the professionals. Especially geek humor.

‘you just got server-ed”?!?! That’s as bad as someone trying to resurrect the ‘I need more cow-bell’ joke…

So what was wrong with that?

CS, don’t get your MIPS in an uproar. I kinda thought the ‘server-ed’ joke was funny, and I’m an Elder Geek. *wink*
And you being in IT explains EVER so much - particularly your pedantic behavior which I find fascinating. Live long and prosper, and God bless.

” I need more cow-bell
When did that stopping being funny? I live in a van down by the river, so help me.

Your account has now been removed. Please turn in your access card before the end of the day.
“And you being in IT explains EVER so much - particularly your pedantic behavior which I find fascinating.”
So should I zoom in on your use of the word, “Elder,” in the previous sentence and point out how you do not meet the qualifications per 1 Timothy and Titus?
“Live long and prosper, and God bless.”
Right back at ya, sister.

David - hoping to add some clarity…this was not an Easter promo. We are a family that likes to have fun and has been tradition for our staff to say “hi” or “welcome” in a creative/humorous way…the video was shown as a part of the greeting. Hopefully that context gives you (and others) a better understanding for its purpose.
The rest of the service was a great time celebrating the resurrection and responding to God’s word.
Thanks for posting it Todd

Thanks for the context, that helps a lot. All we had was Easter Promo.
I showed the video to my wife last night (she likes Glee, but it’s no secret), as I thought she would like it. She enjoyed it. The video was humorous (even if you are a IT Geek). It’s a great video at replicating the Glee formula, I was just looking for the purpose of it. Thanks for replying.
