Actually, I disagree.  Since I am currently an MDiv student in Theology and Apologetics, I argue he doesn’t know theology.

However, I do agree that a life full of “knowledge” without love, service, application and evangelism can trip up a Christian.

I totally agree with Lori!  When you say you don’t want theology, you are saying you don’t want a word from God about God (theos-God; logos-discourse, word).

I’m in agreement with the other posters, and disagree with your assessment, Todd.  The problem here is not having, “too much knowledge,” but a lack of knowledge/wisdom or ability to process it.

In the IT world, we joke that there is a difference between, “data,” and, “information.”  The first is raw, unorganized facts.  The second is the useful dissemination and organization of data in a helpful manner.  Sometimes this is also called the, “signal to noise ratio.”

In this guy’s case, he clearly has access to a variety of, “data.”  He has knowledge of a variety of things like the word, “logos,” Origen, and some theology.  But, the rambling incoherency shows that he lacks the knowledge/wisdom to organize it into helpful information, and instead goes off on what I’m sure some people would see as a crazy tirade.

I am big on teaching theology so that we don’t have people go off the deep end like this.  When we stop teaching theology and doctrine in our churches, and instead focus solely on relationships, feelings, and activities, we get people who don’t know how to get through the tough times, know who their God is, and have people making odd Youtube videos like this one.

I’m deeply moved, but I am not sure what I am moved to do.  I have never heard so much about Zeus.

Notice that not one grapples with their lack of believing the Bible but just belittle the speaker.  They prove they as theologians are not Christians but proud philosophers by their answers.  They manifest their lack of their fear of God and lack of wisdom.

They have no answer of substance for what is said.
