Today’s Buzz: Charlie Hall vs. Chris Tomlin; Richard Roberts and Money; and Critiquing Blogger

Richard Roberts Still Has Access to ORU Money
From The Chronicle of Higher Education’s Website:  “Despite the controversies, Mr. Roberts has declared his intention to remain as chairman and chief executive of Oral Roberts Ministries, the central organization in the empire that includes the university.  Because of the ties between the two groups, Mr. Roberts’s resignation from the university will have limited effect on his ability to misuse its funds if he remains in control of Oral Roberts Ministries, Tim Brooker, one of the three former professors who brought the lawsuit, told The Oklahoman, a newspaper in Oklahoma City.” HT:  CT

If You’re In South Florida, Beware:  You May Get a Visit from The Critiquing Blogger
Lew Graff has heard lots of preaching in the past few months: He has spent 20 Sundays since June visiting churches in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.  Graff, 32, his wife, Laura, and a small group of friends he calls his “posse” have reveled in energetic music, marveled at charismatic worshipers speaking in tongues, learned how a movie theater can be a fine place for services and complained about taped sermons and uninspiring preaching.  Graff, of Sunrise, describes his Sunday mornings and reviews the churches on his blog, http://revolutionfl. blogspot.com.  The blog, which Graff said gets about 250 hits a day, began as an outlet for a frustrated writer who works as a commercial air-conditioning maintenance man. But he said the visits have opened his eyes to the assortment of high-energy worship possibilities in South Florida.  More here...

    Ed Young Expose
OK… well it’s not really an expose’, but it is a feature article on Ed Young, Jr. over at Ministry Today Magazine.  Check it out...

    Chris Tomlin vs. Charlie Hall
... in armwrestling.  Who do you think wins?

It's kind of like celebrity deathmatch, but it's really just a friendly armwrestling match between Charlie Hall and Chris Tomlin. Who do you think won? Also, Richard Roberts, Ed Young, Jr., and a blogger who may visit your church and blog about it...

Ohhhh c’mon Charlie. I had my money on Charlie for sure. I always thought Chris to be a “fancy boy.” I guess you cannot read too much into guys with long goatees.

I am an ORU grad and I think Richard’s resignation is a good thing for the university. There is talk about splitting the university (ORU) from the ministry (OREA). That would be good. I think most of the allegations towards RR are frivolous. I think he will be cleared of all allegations soon, but I don’t know…

Todd - Your link to http://revolutionfl.blogspot.com/ cuts off the “blogspot.com.” You may want to fix it. http://www.mondaymorninginsight.com/images/smileys/grin.gif

I’d like to personally thank whoever started playing “Eye of the Tiger” for taking me back to high school…. lol

Of course Tomlin was going to beat Hall. Hall was laughing too hard and kept talking into the mic. Tomlin was more focused.

My hubby has a goatee. So I’m alittle biased.

I was so disgusted with Charlie’s lame performance that I’ve shaved off my goatee…

Such a disgrace, losing to a nancy-boy like Chris Tomlin…
