    I’m Back (Kind of)...
It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks for me.  In the past two weeks, I’ve been to Dallas (twice), South Bend, and Atlanta (not to mention Detroit at least four times!) My time left over to add to the discussion here has been limited; but hopefully, I’m back for a while.  I hope you missed the regular updates as much as I missed providing them.

Oops!  Outreach Magazine Publishes the Wrongly Sorted List...
Yesterday, we linked to Outreach Magazine’s list of the fastest growing churches.  Just one problem… the magazine didn’t sort the list correctly before it published it (which is kind of important when you’re ranking things!) Kent over at ChurchRelevance.com noticed the problem.  Actually, when I was looking at the list, it didn’t make real good sense to me… I figured the data had to be weighted in some weird say… I couldn’t figure out how they ranked them when there was a higher number and percentage of growth with different churches across the list.  Anyway… I got an email from Ed Stetzer this morning asking me to ‘please be kind’.  Of course, I will!  (When haven’t I, Ed?) smile You can read his comments here.  Bottom line:  innocent mistake on Outreach’s part; embarrassing to be sure; but they will have an updated list published later today.  (I’ll link to it tomorrow).

Innovate Videos are Now Up (and free)
I hope to post more on Innovate (at Granger) in the near future.  It was a great time.  But for now, you can check out all the main session videos at the WiredChurches.com website.

    YouVersion Public Beta is Announced...
Got an email last week from Bobby Greunwald about the now-public beta version of the online Bible collaboration tool YouVersion.  Bobby writes:  Simply go to YouVersion.com and register.  After confirming your account, you’ll be able to:

--Search for scripture or scroll through our Bible Reader
    --Star verses and content
    --Tag verses and content
--Contribute images, videos, links, and text to passages
--Start journaling with the Journal tool
    --See what others are sharing
--Email items to your friends and family
    --Rate content

    The Bynum/Weeks Plot Thickens...
We’ve been watching the Juanita Bynum/Bishop Meeks situation deteriorate rapidly (well, I guess it started with a knockdown in the parking lot, which didn’t give it much high ground to start with.) New developments:  Juanita has filed for divorce.  She’s been given a restraining order against the Bishop.  And she’s asking the court for financial support “that the court may deem equitable or appropriate.” She’s has also declared herself “the face of domestic violence.” As for the Bishop:  he’s been charged with felony aggravated assault, felony terroristic threats, and two counts of simple battery.  He is submitting a counter claim to the divorce case adnuttubg to most of the allegations in Bynum’s complaint.. but he challenges her claim that the two have been separated since June. OK… that’s it for today… still trying to catch up with all my work from being gone for a couple weeks, so I’d better get back at it!  Have a great day!

Welcome back Todd! You’ve been missed around here. Thanks for providing the posts you have while traveling.

Amazing how things can change in just a couple of weeks.

Welcome back, Todd!  Missed the updates on this blog and hope you got some much needed rest and refueling.  As for Outreach’s “oops”, I applaud them for not making any excuses and handling the situation well.  I read Kent’s post on Church Relevance yesterday and am ever grateful for the sharp people we have in the kingdom who catch stuff like this.

      Todd,

Glad you are back in the saddle again. MMI has become such a regular part of my week that I felt “off” not reading, laughing and thinking.

      Keep the posts comin’!

      Derek
