Dead Air Worries Not-So-Rapture-Ready Woman

A young woman from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was relieved to find that she was not left behind by Jesus in the Rapture, after her favorite Christian radio station transmitted dead air for about 3 minutes this morning...

Horn+Swoggled reports Susan Lincoln was in her bedroom listening to a Fernando Ortega song when Peace 92 FM stopped playing music. Lincoln said she couldn’t stop herself from assuming the worst.

“All the people down at Peace 92 are such good Christians,” she said. “I thought for sure they’d been caught up in the air with the Lord, and I’d been left behind for borrowing someone else’s copy of Dr. LaHaye’s books.”

Lincoln said the seriousness of her predicament hit her when she turned the dial on her radio to find political talk network Air America still on the air. “The thought of being left behind with all those liberals was more than I could stand,” she said. “The tribulation’s going to be hard enough without high taxes.”

Lincoln eventually called the radio station and discovered that the Rapture had not occurred, but that morning show host Teddy Landry had simply miscalculated the length of his visit to the restroom.
