It’s Official… The Quickest Way To Contact Me… Twitter!

I've come to the realization that Twitter has become the quickest way to contact me. Sure, I still look and respond to email; but if you want a quick response back from me these days... Twitter is the way to go. And here's why...

1.  Twitter is spontaneous.  For some reason, there is just more urgency with Twitter than with email.  And when a direct Twitter message pops up on my screen, I know that it’s new and fresh.

2.  Twitter isn’t an in-box.  Do you ever get depressed because your in-box is crammed full of stuff that you haven’t responded to?  I know I do.  Twitter has allowed me to thin out some of the email from that in-box because it never even hits my in-box!

3.  Twitter allows me to respond quickly and accurately.  Let’s face it, when you only have 140 characters to respond, it helps you to be brief, and psychologically (at least for me), it allows me the freedom to respond quickly.

4.  Twitter is fun… and hip… and cool… right now.  That doesn’t mean that it will be in six months.  But it is allowing me to keep in contact with more and more people; and is really turning into a communications hub for my contacts and my work.

I know, I know… there are still alot of people who don’t ‘get’ twitter.  I understand.  But really, it’s like every mom used to say… “You don’t know if you don’t try it”.

Try Twitter to keep up with people like @perrynoble or @daveferguson.  Heck, even @SarahPalin is on Twitter!

And… the quickest way to get ahold of me (from now on) is on Twitter at @toddrhoades

Sign-up today at http://www.twitter.com.  It’s free and easy and takes just a few moments.  I think you’ll find it to be a great tool rather than a time-waster (as I’ve heard people who’ve never tried it before call it).

I love it for this reason. I am assured that I am not going to get a long email that goes on forever. I think Outlook needs the capability of only allowing 140 characters smile

Todd, I just blogged about how our church and other churches are using twitter. Seems like there are some common themes surrounding twitter today.

I totally agree with you. Twitter is by far the fastest way to get in touch with me, http://www.twitter.com/jeffwilson or @jeffwilson if you’re an early adopter.
