to say that hip hop is just an african american thing is just as limiting as the implication you are making.
hip hop was birthed in african american culture, but spread QUICKLY to be an urban thing, and then a suburban thing that transcended race.
to imply that it’s “black people music” is a little ridiculous.

I’m sorry that you missed understood what I was saying. I am very aware that hiphop is an urban music style, as it captured me as a teenager and plays a significant role in my life today. But this is a suburban church that doesn’t use hip hop but as a creative element which was my point and comment was meant as a joke as was the video.
Just so you know I dream of a day where multi-cultural churches are the norm and all types of musical styles are used in corporate worship and the make up of the church is represented in the staff and leadership as well.
