Today’s Buzz: Orbit Gum, PCUSA, UK, TBN and Other Various Initials…
People everywhere are asking... What is the most popular boy baby name in Europe? You might be suprised. We have news on the continuing slide in membership over at the PSUSA; and learn about a Christian Radio Network's latest ban... all in today's buzz.
PCUSA Numbers Continue to Slide
From the PCUSA’s own news service: “Active membership in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) continues to decline, decreasing by more than 46,000 in 2006, and the number of people being baptized also continues to slide, according to statistics recently released.” Their assessment: “The bottom line: For growth to appear, our overall losses need to go down and our overall gains need to go up,” she said. “The 2006 picture shows we lost fewer people, but we also brought fewer into the church. Not the formula for growth.” At least you have to give them an A for honesty. They don’t appear to be looking through rose colored glasses. You can read details here...

...evidently because of this new commercial from Orbit. (OK, no one really did’t do this; but I thought it was funny… so chalk one up to my warped sense of humor).

Ha! I thought that commercial was hilarious the first time I saw it! Must go and repent now…

Not only do I have one piece of Orbit in my mouth currently.... there are two. (totally laughing at self)
