Here's a humorous look at how a church thanked it's volunteers. NOTE: You won't appreciate this if you didn't live through the eighties. What a better way to thank your volunteers than an 80's hair band remake?!

Very cute. We do something like that live at our volunteer appreciation dinner every year. The pastors do a song parody together. This year it was to the tune of New York New York and we all wore those cheesy tuxedo t-shirts. It was funny.
My favorite parts were the brief moments he channeled Axl Rose.

Well Todd, you’ve finally shown your true colors! An ungodly, worldly looking band playing the devil’s music and for what--to thank volunteers at a church??!! If those volunteers really loved Jesus, they wouldn’t want to be appreciated--but because you insist on consumer oriented, ME ME ME, selfish Rick Warren-driven churches, this is where it leads to--long hair and drums to thank people for what they ought to be doing anyway. Apostasy pure and simple.
Hugs,
Ingrid
the above was meant to be in jest, cause I got folks in my church that would react this way.
I pump my fist in the air and bang my head for all my volunteers!
Rock on!!

I'm Todd Rhoades... the MMI guy. I'm also on the team at Leadership Network (although that doesn't mean that they endorse everything I write here). In my past life, I was the founder and developer of a website named ChurchStaffing.com.
Lighters UP!
That just rocks!
