Who Are You Reading These Days?

I was inspired by this post over at the Evangelical Outpost. There, the blogger lists his top 100 blogs that he reads. I thought it would be interesting to ask each of you what your top five on-line reads are. What blogs do you follow? If you're reading this, I'm going to ask you to take just 2 minutes and respond with a comment. (Please don't make me beg... I'm not above begging!) Very briefly... just list 1-5 that blogs that you read regularly (#1 being the first one you read through #5). And don't worry, if MMI isn't on your list, I won't cry about it...

(I’ll ban your comment, but I won’t cry about it!)

If MMI is on your list though, please rank it (as compared to the others)

I have a couple of hopes if enough people respond… first, it will be fun to see if there is a consensus about who the readers of MMI like to read.  (I think I have a good idea, but this will either help confirm or deny that suspicion.) And also:  I’m hoping to discover a new blog or two that would be good for me to follow.

So… let’s have at it.  What are your favorite 5 blog reads.  List them one through five in the order of importance to you.  You can also add additional commentary on specific blogs if you like.

Who’ll be first?

Thanks!

Todd

I track blogs via bloglines.  Users of this service understand that the order in which a bloglines subscriber reads is often determined by how often the tracked blogs are updated.  It’s possible that a highly favored blog will only get a new posting every week or so, while a less favored blog will be examined every day, because it is updated far more frequently.

In order of my personal tastes (!), my five favorite blogs are:

    1.  Sand in the Gears (http://www.tonywoodlief.com)
    2.  Mere Comments (http://merecomments.typepad.com/), blog for editors of Touchstone
    3.  Out of Our Minds, Too (http://www.baylyblog.com/), blog of two PCA pastors
    4.  Reformed Catholicism (http://www.reformedcatholicism.com), group blog of ... well, Christians who insist that they are Reformed and Catholic.
    5.  Immoderate (http://immoderate.wordpress.com/), blog of a fundamentalist, Baptist graduate student whose interests range far off the reservation

In order of what I actually see the most of:

    1.  MMI, because it’s updated very frequently (compared to the others)
    2.  Out of Our Minds, Too (see URL above), because its comment sections are often very full of debate that interests me
    3.  Mere Comments:  ditto
    4.  Cranach (http://cranach.worldmagblog.com/cranach/), Gene Veith’s blog, an orthodox Lutheran perspective
    5.  Stand Firm (http://www.standfirminfaith.com/index.php/site/index) at which I follow the slow-train wreck that is the unraveling of the Anglican Communion and the fracturing of The Episcopal Church.
