You may have already seen this... it's making its round across the internet very quickly (I think I've been forwarded three or four times on this one). It's from a message from a KJV only baptist preacher talking about I Samuel 25:22. You have to give him a little credit for preaching on this verse... I don't think I've ever heard it mentioned in a sermon. However, I'm not sure how he pulled out of that verse that the translators of the NIV version of the Bible all "pee sitting down". You have to watch the whole clip to really appreciate it. After you watch it, I'd love to hear your thoughts...
Scroll down to watch the clip here…

Post Your Comments:Ahhh - now this explains things . . .
“Pastor Anderson holds no college degree but has well over 100 chapters of the Bible committed to memory, including almost half of the New Testament.” (from the church website)
Wendi
Go ahead an pee standing up because it seems that the context is that God is going to be killing the ones who do. But at least he can make it all about him.
Here’s some wisdom from my son-in-law:
“And I’m proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I’m free.
And praise those who preach the KJV,
‘Cause now I know how to pee…
And I’ll proudly stand up, next to you...”
I can’t believe no one jumped on the interesting exegesis: 5 is the number of death. “You know, Genesis 5:5, Acts 5:5.”
ah… yea.
AS THE GREAT PHILOSOPHER ONCE SAID....
Number ONE is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
I’m really pisseth offeth about all of this. This I’ll go pisseth on a walleth.
Can I pee against a tree and still be a man or does it have to be against a wall? If so then I am going to have to get me some of that waterproof drywall for the bathroom!
As the one who generally cleans the bathroom in our house, I would much prefer the MEN in my house sit, if that reduces the cleaning I’ll have to do on the wall and floor surrounding the toilet.
I actually view such considerate behavior as very MANLY!!
I’m really glad that he put the president and the NIV editors in their places. Sitting down while they pisseth. People are dying and going to Hell and this guy wants them to pee standing up. Oh Please!
Somebody please tell me this was a joke.
He was closing his message, what in the world was he speaking on that, that verse could cap off the message? man that must be some interesting topical speaking.
I don’t want to get all serious on this very humorous thread, but I have a nagging question.
Not coming from a fundamentalist, KJ only background, there is something I’ve never understood.
If the KJV was translated in 1611 from received Greek texts and the Masoretic Hebrew text, and subsequent translations used the same sources, how/why do these guys determine that the KJV is the only legitimate English bible, especially since our everyday English is quite different today than it was in 1611? Can someone explain that to me?
Wendi
wendy,
nope
perhaps someone can, I have read quite a bit on the subject and talked with some (I have a friend or two who hold to this) but the position has never made sense to me. It seems (imo) to deny a basic component of language; it grows and changes, language reflects the culture of the time and place. oh well I still wonder what the topic/text was that this verse could possibly be the completion of the thought.
Totally hilarious! Seriously probably 95% of our churches would not allow us to say “pisseth”. Sure his wife can’t wear make up or cut her hair, but saying “piss” in church is perfectly fine!!!
i wonder what makes these guys so mad!!! Probably that their wife can’t wear make-up or cut her hair!!!
It’s Jack from Lost! Now we know why he went crazy after getting off the island - he pastored a church!
Oh, ok. So, it’s a good thing to get yourself killed as a descendant of Jereboam! Of course, all of those passages were clearly saying that in order to be a real man you have to piss against the wall.
My father, nearly 90 years old is having problems when he comes out of the bathroom these days. I was going to suggest that he begin to just sit down so he won’t have any more embarrassing accidents...but I guess I’d be encouraging him to be less than a man--although he fought in two major wars.
This guy wouldn’t know exegesis if it bit him!
How NOT NECESSARY that “sermon?” was!!!!! I hope the children had already gone to children’s church!
It is guys like this that make me want to jump off of a bridge sometimes. Ministry is hard enough, but when guys like this are out there running their mouths about thing like this...it just makes it harder.
I believe the hardest part of being a pastor is trying to untangle the horrible theology that gets passed around by the likes of this guy.
Old Proverb: He that pisseth on the wall should be careful to stand far enough away.
In modern day terms: The man that stands to pee should be careful of the splatter.
What a joke!!!
Holy cow… I laughed so hard I pissethed my pants while sitting in a chair!! So much for being manly…
I think I know what the trouble with America is: preachers like this. Jesus save me--from your preachers!
I went to this pastor’s website and he preached a sermon and also has an essay posted on his site entitled: “Why Bible College is Unscriptural and Wrong” I have never in all my time in ministry seen someone take verses so out of context as this pastor has!
Sad, sad, sad. And what’s even sadder is that nutjobs like this believe that repentance is the equivalent of works, and so they’ve got a “blacklist” that includes the likes of Billy Graham and Charles Spurgeon.
http://www.repentanceblacklist.com/
And looking at this guy’s website reminds me of looking at fundamentalist Islamic websites - not much difference in their theology or worldview.
How twisted.
the way is narrow enough without the idolatry of the deification of theology.
It looks like this guy thinks he looks good in that suit, because in his recent attack on Perry Noble and New Spring Church, he is wearing the same suit.
Should we “pisseth” against the wall? Didn’t God say he was going to destroy anyone that “piseth” against the wall? I’m confused....
Steve Anderson is a great preacher! Too many liberals try to censor the Word of God!
