Message: From: MondayMorningInsight.com: There's lots of news from over the weekend, especially in the televangelist camps... stuff from Randy White, Juanita Bynum, Richard Roberts, Robert A. Schuller, and Rick Warren. (What's up with all that?) Plus, we'll hear about a pastor who plans to take over Microsoft; telling their shareholders that he will be their 'worst nightmare' if they continue to defy him... Lots of news in the televangelist world today… not sure why… but just in case you’re interested: I Don’t Feel No Ways Tired That was the name of the song song Sunday at Without Walls Church in Tampa as Randy White told his congregation that he wasn’t going to quit. Last week, White’s assistant sent an e-mail to church members saying the pastor would address “the hard issues and allegations that have been reported by the media in recent months.” The church’s 4,000-seat sanctuary was about 70 percent full at both morning services, compared with the thinner crowds that have been coming recently. SOURCE My Life Was in Turmoil Anyway... Her life was in turmoil. Her marriage was failing. Her estate in a Duluth country club was headed for foreclosure. And when she lost her $2.5 million home with the prayer room that gave her a quiet place to soothe her spirit, national evangelist Juanita Bynum says she wept for two days. In a two-part series appearing in the December issue of Essence magazine, Bynum talks frankly about losing her home, living in her church and the tumultuous years that she says led to the alleged attack in the hotel parking lot on Aug. 21 that broke up her marriage to Bishop Thomas W. Weeks III. SOURCE ORU Official Says He’ll Quit if Roberts Returns Oral Roberts University’s executive vice president of academic affairs and provost offered his resignation to the board of regents on Thursday if the board decides to keep Richard Roberts as president. Mark Lewandowski wrote regents Chairman George Pearsons that he “would be pleased to continue to serve” in his job if Roberts resigns or is not reinstated, according to his letter first obtained by The Associated Press. SOURCE Newspaper Piece on Robert A. Schuller And Robert Harold Schuller begat Robert Anthony Schuller who begat Robert Vernon Schuller — and the succession of power of “The Hour of Power,” through the divine House of Schullers, seems secure. The Robert in the middle — the Rev. Robert A. Schuller — at the age of 53, has come into his own as one of America’s most familiar TV pastors. With chiseled good looks and a disarming smile, he is senior pastor of the longtime international TV ministry made famous by its towering Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif., with its 10,000 panes of glass and massive windows that open to a parking lot where a few people may still sit in their cars and watch a worship service. SOURCE Rick Warren Invites Hillary to Saddleback… and she Accepts Hillary Clinton will appear at noted pastor Rick Warren’s evangelical church later this month to take part in Warren’s increasingly popular Global Summit on AIDS and the Church. Officials at Warren’s Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., said Sen. Clinton was the first of six presidential candidates invited to confirm participation. The summit - hosted by Warren, author of the best-selling “The Purpose Driven Life” and his wife, Kay - will be held Nov. 27 through Dec. 1. “I commend Rick and Kay Warren for their work to fight HIV/AIDS,” Sen. Clinton said in a statement. “Our churches have a powerful role to play in raising the consciousness of the nation and the world to this pandemic and urge compassion for the sick and the suffering. SOURCE Pastor Vows to Take Over Microsoft A black conservative Christian pastor of an evangelical megachurch has vowed to take over Microsoft by packing it with new shareholders who will vote against the company’s policy of championing gay rights. The Reverend Ken Hutcherson, a former Dallas Cowboys linebacker, heads the Antioch Bible Church in Redmond, home of Microsoft. He told Microsoft executives at a shareholders’ meeting last week that he would be their “worst nightmare” if they continued to defy him.
