Bishop Week’s Church is Evicted from Campus

    Bookmark and Share

According to the newspaper report, attendance is down to around 1,600 from about 3,400 since the parking lot incident.

About 250 people made it to the Holiday Inn for services this Sunday.

Week’s response:  “People do not understand the cost of running a worldwide ministry.”

Evidently, Bishop Weeks… about $400k more than you currently have.  And now the world knows it.  And they laugh.  And scoff.  And some of them will lump me and my faith in with yours.  That just plain stinks.

Last week I told you about how Randy White's Church Without Walls is now facing foreclosure, and how Earl Paulk has put his Atlanta mega-church building on the market... Today, news about Bishop Thomas Week's church, Global Destiny International Ministries, (also in the Atlanta area) has been kicked off it's campus just in time for weekend services. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, it was not destiny that Global Destiny would meet at its regular campus this week. They were evicted on Friday afternoon after being behind about $400,000 in rent and fees, and not making ANY payments since July. You might remember Bishop Weeks, who was arrested after allegedly attacking his former wife, evangelist Juanita Bynum, in a hotel parking lot last year...

Maybe God is cleaning house so the world can see.  All of these represent ministries where “prosperity” is such a main theme.  They live loose lives.  Serious issues have gone on in the lives of these leaders and very little, if any, repentance has been shown.  For me, it’s a breath of fresh air to see that “followers” are not following these leaders any more.  For a long time in these ministries, people blindly followed.

WOW….I agree with Todd’s last line. My family believes God to bring finances our way & I grew up in the “faith camp” I have no problem with that. But when we are just believing to hoard it for ourselves. I have been challenged by 2 books I have read & God to believe for finances only to give it away. What good is it for me to have a ton, well to be honest nothing close to a ton, when there are others around struggling.

I get frustrated as well at “Christians” that make our Lord and our faith look bad, but let’s make sure we’re praying for and extending grace to these people like our King did for us - instead of trying to just push ourselves as far away from them as possible.

I’m not pushing myself away from them, I’m running away from them!  These “swindlers” make it tough on all of us and I agree with Todd, “that stinks”!!

I wonder if this means “Bishop” Weeks “search for a new wife” show is cancelled?  It sounds like he can’t afford a wife right now.  Oh well, at least, according to Weeks, his other campuses around the country are all paid up so he has LOTS of other places to go and ply his trade.  Let the folks in those cities deal with him.

I bet he wishes he had back some of the 1 million + dollars he spent on his marriage to his former wife, Juanita.
