Fellowship Church Plans to Egg the Dallas Metroplex Before Easter.

Fellowship Church also plans to “egg” these metropolitan areas by handing out 150,000 Easter eggs filled with chocolate candy and an invitation to one of their many Easter services over six campuses.

Over 1,000 volunteers from the church are working with 16 local agencies and planning over 40 different projects across the Metroplex. Some of these projects include free car washes, construction projects, repair jobs, yard work for the elderly and many other service oriented tasks.

In Fort Worth, “Love Your Neighbor” will reach beyond the suburbs and manicured lawns and into the homeless community. People from the surrounding shelters will work alongside volunteers from the church to beautify and clean up the area. It’s all an attempt to show people what the church is really about.

“We want people to know that our church loves people. And if they want to come check us out, that is great!” says Young.

Pastor Young and Fellowship Church are best known for creative teaching, dynamic leadership principles and a no-holds-barred approach to topics that relate to today’s society such as money, relationships, and cultural needs.

You all know how much I enjoy press releases, especially from churches. Here's one from Fellowship Church on their Easter plans. Church press releases always fit in the Stuart Smalley "You're Good Enough, You're Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like You" category of church news. I love Fellowship Church, and you know that Ed Young always takes it to a whole 'notha level'. I guess I just don't like press releases. I like it when other people tell me they like me rather than me asking them to like me, if that makes sense. Church press releases do blog nicely though. Here's Fellowship's release from the end of March:

March 27, 2009, Grapevine, TX - March 28, Fellowship Church, a Dallas/Fort Worth-based mega church, sets out to make a positive difference throughout the community. This 30,000 member church is planning a massive service project with the goal of reaching people through what they call "random acts of kindness" in the DFW metro area.

"We don't want to just tell people about God's love for them. We want to show them!" said Ed Young, Senior Pastor of Fellowship. "With so much negativity in the news, we want to do something positive for the people in our communities. Easter is about more than just a bunny and chocolate eggs. It's all about God demonstrating his love for us through the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ. And we want to be a conduit of that love by expressing it in tangible ways to our neighbors," Young explains.

You are totally right that Easter is regarding further than just a bunny and brunette eggs. It’s also all about God representing his adore for us all the way through the surrender and renaissance of Christ community.
