You can see some really cool videos of the first Microsoft ad, the first Apple Ad, Jimmy’s fall from grace tv report, and even watch the “where’s the beef” commercial (and D&K’s 666 video) online with this interactive timeline we’ve developed to help promote our Innovation3 conference in Dallas in January.

If you haven’t registered your team for Innovation3 yet, take the opportunity to do so today.  Work it into your budget.  Beg, steal, borrow to get there!  It’s going to be a great time!  Some of th most innovative minds in the church world.  Mark Driscoll.  Tim Keller. And over 100 presenters around the topic of church innovation.  Check it out while you’re there checking out the timeline.

Innovation3Gathering.com 25 Years of Ministry Innovation Timeline

If you've been in ministry for the last 25 years (or any part of it), you'll enjoy the ministry timeline that I've put together (with the help of my Leadership Network colleagues). We tried to include all kinds of interesting ministry and cultural events that have happened over the last 25 years. It really does give a nice retrospective of some of the things that have happened in life and ministry innovation over the past quarter century.

Today, we'll take a look back at the years 1984, 1985, and 1986. Here are some of the events you'll find on the timeline, complete with interactive videos and websites. I've never seen anything like this on the web, and I think you'll enjoy it:

1984: Where's the beef?, Degarmo & Key release the 666 concept video (that was banned from MTV), Apple releases the first Macintosh computer and Leadership Network was launched.

1985: Microsoft Windows was released, and Joyce Meyer Ministries was launched.

1986: Granger Community Church holds their first service, Jimmy Swaggart Falls from Grace, and Heritage USA was one of the country's top vacation destinations.

Just a note to let you know you have an error in your timeline: Jimmy Swaggart did not fall in 1986, but 88.

Slw was right.  The First time Jimmy was busted was in the spring of 88,  I was a freshman at the college and was in the service when he said with tears in his eyes, “I’ve sinned against you”.  I’ll never for get the scene as I left the dorms and headed to the church across the street.  Helicopters flying over-head and probably 200 media persons in surrounding the building.  I hated the whole thing.
