Gay Day at the Holy Land Experience

Hmmm... interesting course of events.  When the Holy Land Experience was purchased by non-profit (that's a joke) TBN recently, they had to justify their tax exempt status... The Bible-based theme park owned by the Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) is legally required to drop its $35 admission fee one day a year in order to receive certain property tax breaks. This year the park decided to host its free day just two days before the kick-off of Orlando's Come Out With Pride week.

So, why not kick off gay-pride week by heading over to the Holy Land Experience?  (You have to admit, it was a brilliant idea).

Organizers of the gay pride events told the local newspaper they hope to begin the festivities at the Holy Land Experience, saying they do not plan to make a scene, and are telling supporters not to disrupt the park’s daily activities.  They also added that many of their members are also practicing Christians.

I haven't seen any news reports this morning of how things went yesterday.  Maybe someone was there who can tell us if everything went smoothly.

You can find some interesting stuff by searching twitter for “holy land experience”

Looks like they had to shut the gate shortly after opening cause they reached capacity and gave out 5000 vouchers to people who didn’t make it in.

I’ll bet their finance dept is thanking their lucky gay stars.

Besides, any opportunity that has the potential to draw people, any people, closer to Christ has some merit. Whoever is not against us is for us.

I am simply interested in your opinion on the topic. Also, I would like to point out that The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is now an official church, and yet we do not receive a tax exempt status. Weird huh?
