    On the Road Again

It was my first time to hear Matt Chandler speak (I get to hear him speak today at another conference).  Larry Osborne and Toby Slough were also a part of the Multi-site Deal… both are outstanding leaders and really great guys.  It is exciting to hear what God is doing with them and the ministries they lead.

After the day at the conference, I drove from Dallas to Austin for today’s Acts 29 Regional Church Planting event, sponsored by The Austin Stone Church and The Village Church.  It should be a good time.  During the drive down, I listened to J. Vernon McGee on the radio.  Hadn’t listened to him for years.  He’s still pretty good for an old, dead guy.

Meanwhile, at home… today is my 2nd son’s birthday; and we find out this morning if my 1st son gets off his crutches (after six weeks).  Add dance rehearsal, and practice for a driver’s exam tomorrow, and it looks like I picked a busy day to travel!  smile

As I travel, I’m always thrilled (and amazed) at the number of people who come up to introduce themselves to me, saying they read MMI.  That is very exciting to me (and a bit weird, since I don’t get to see anyone of you while I’m typing this stuff).  I’m just glad the many are ready (and some even like it!)

I’m off tonight after the conference.  Austin to Chicago; Chicago to Detroit; Detroit to Ohio.  I think I should pull in the driveway around 2 AM.  It’s gonna be a long, but great day!

I’m on the road again next week; but after that (I promise), I’ll try to get back to some kind of normal blogging schedule.

    Have a great one!

The last month has been a real stretch for me... I've been on the road every week except one with my job for Leadership Network, attending many of the conferences and events that we're helping sponsor. It's been a lot of fun, and yet very tiring. And I've discovered that it's really hard to blog AND travel. So, hopefully you'll stick with me. Yesterday started at 4:30 a.m., leaving at 5:00 for the 2 hour trip to the Detroit airport. Then, I when I got to security, I discovered that I left my cell phone in my truck. It was too late to go back and get it; so, when I got to Dallas, I stopped at a Circuit City and bought a $14.99 Virgin Mobile pre-pay phone (which I really like, by the way!) I spent yesterday at the Coast 2 Coast Multi-site Conference...

I miss the posts, but understand the weariness of travel.

      Keep up the good work!

Happy birthday to your son! Safe travel for you… And definitely praying for your wife…

Be sure to take some time to just “abide”, too, brother man.

yes, J. Vernon is REMARKABLY good for an old dead guy. I agree.

      Blessings all over you!
