At a time when many paid ministers tend to cloak themselves in a veil of secrecy and privacy, this is particularly refreshing. Big ?kudos? to Dave!
All it took was a few minutes of time to show a little interest. And what an impression it made! What can you do today to make a great impression with a new person at your church?
I wanted to share this, because it’s been a highlight for me over the last couple weeks: Dave, the senior pastor of the church we’ve been attending has asked for questions and comments via email. Well, I took him up on the offer, and lo and behold he replied. We’ve gone back and forth a couple times now…

What a great point to highlight. As an associate pastor for a large “multi-site” :0) church, it’s only about the people. Getting connected anyway and everyway way we can, so we can “reach out” and touch. Not fake or to present the right image. But because God values people, so that’s #1 priority. Do we blow it sometimes, sure. And we make sure we communicate that we make mistakes and we work hard to fix them when we do.
We utilize every tool we can to keep us connected with people. It’s a huge task for us, especially in our type of environment with large numbers getting saved and involved in our discipleship processes. Which means lots of new people attending services each week. (we’ve added 1800 in attendance in the last nine months)
So putting your actions where your mouth is means everything. And I think that more and more those of us in ministry are striving to keep our attention in the best places.

I agree with Preston Todd.
Thank you for posting this article.
Pastors can be VERY bad at listening and many seem to avoid people and questions (especially Theological ones). Email is a great way to open up dialoge and reach out with a non-threating form of communication (plus it can be done over time at your convenience).
