OK... after yesterday's link brouhaha over bad links... here are some direct links that should work better for today's buzz. These are some things I've found in the last 24 hours that I think you might want to check out...
SPIDER-MAN creator Stan Lee is to unveil the world's first gay superhero... Wonder what they'll call him?
An Unlikely Gay-Straight Alliance This is interesting... from the Christianity Today website.
I Bet the WCA hates the word "FREE" I'm just saying... half a million resources downloaded for free is big bucks when you're charging for it! Way to go LifeChurch.tv!
Mark Driscoll makes "Tim LaHaye’s marriage manuals of the 70’s look like preschool Sunday School materials" I have to smile at stuff like this...
Popcorn in the church... Another look at the theatre church trend from Christianity Today...
SETH GODIN: When newspapers are gone... what will you miss? Seth offers some great advice on what the future might look like...
Going high definition... church style Sure, it's still expensive... but some churches are making the move, bigtime!
ORU cuts 50+ jobs It's a bummer of a day to be working at Oral Roberts University
Find things that you think I should pop on here tomorrow? Let me know!

Did you ever know that you’re my hero? You’re everything I wish I could be….

Why the shot at the WCA? I’ve had to pay a fair price for Leadership Network resources also.

Didn’t mean it as a shot at the WCA. I like Willow. But the whole “free” thing really cuts into their ministry model.
Thanks for the return shot at Leadership Network. We charge for very few things… our Leadership Communities and our once ever 6 year conference (that’s in a couple weeks, by the way). Most all of our research and publications are entirely free. They are costly to produce (I know how much is budgeted to make these publications possible)… but are provided free to the church at large.
But don’t get me wrong… I don’t think it’s wrong at all to charge. And most of the time, I’m more than willing to pay. My only point is… if I’m in need of a nice sermon package and it costs $39.95 one place and the same quality is available somewhere else for free, I’d probably choose the free one. That inevitably hurts the person charging $39.95.

Comics: I’m a huge comic book buff, and there have been a ton of gay superheroes since the 1970s. It’s just most of them have been on B-list teams or pushed to the fringes of comicdom, such as Northstar in Alpha Flight. There’s nothing new there, except for trying to market it more openly and using that as the hook instead of their powers or abilities being the lure.

CS,
Never would have guessed that about you!

Peter:
Oh, I’m just full of surprises. =)
Actually, yes, I’ve been collecting comic books since I was 12 years old (now in my 30s). Matter of fact, I’ve been inventorying my collection recently, and so far I’m up over 1800 comics, with at least another 500 to go. My largest genres are the X-Men, Captain America, and Thor series.
So, should Todd ever need someone to wax philosophical about the resurrection of Colossus, Cap getting assassinated, or Thor recreating Asgard in Oklahoma, I’ll be happy to render my services. =)
