Last week was a big week for me with the Innovation3 conference in Dallas. The conference went really well, and was a great experience. And, I got to meet a ton of people, and many readers of MMI.

As a result... there really were no updates to the MMI blog last week. My apologies. By the time I got home on Thursday, I was whipped! But I did have time to find some great links and stories from the week, so I'll share those with you this morning. I hope you enjoy.

I should be back on a somewhat regular schedule for the next few weeks. (YES!) If you're not following my updates on Twitter, please sign-up today at Twitter.com and follow me at @toddrhoades. I'll see you there!

The Gay/Christian partnership link isn’t going through… and it sounds so interesting!  Can you reset it?

Perry Noble:  “People who don’t even know you will form opinions of you based on something that they heard you said”  That’s true.  I saw a video of him when he was saying that he wouldn’t visit people in hospitals or get to know them over a meal, and it shaped the way I viewed him.  Which does lend credence also to his follow-up, “and bloggers and such will make it their daily habit to read what you say/listen to you preach just so they can tear you down.”

$52 Million Scam—Warren said, “With over 30 million copies of ‘Purpose-Driven Life’ printed in 51 languages, it doesn’t surprise me that somebody somewhere may have tried to use the book for personal gain.”  Yeah, but the big difference here is that they were right under your nose, sir.  You may not have known them by name, as you claim, but if they truly pocketed $24 million, I’m sure you saw some degree of tithe from them.  Even 1% would be $240k.

Ed Young:  I agree with your comment, Todd.

      Haggard:  Ditto, Todd.

When you preach the unadulterated Gospel truth week in and week out those who are not saved either get too uncomfortable to stay or become broken over their sins that they surrender to Jesus as Lord and Savior.  Too often today, church tries to make sinners feel comfortable.  Today’s attitude is “we don’t want to make them feel as if their being judged..” but the conviction brought about by the truth of God’s Word is a righteous conviction and it serves to separate the wheat from the tares.  Rick Warren is a “feel good” preacher so it is not surprising to me that this kind of person is sitting in his congregation.  I don’t believe that someone like that would be found in a church pastor-ed by John MacArthur or John Piper or Alistair Begg because they don’t compromise nor do they preach to the “felt needs” of their congregants.
