    Beam Me Up, Pastor!
Bruce Bandy writes, “If you are a local campus to your church, can you imagine being across town and “beaming up” your pastor on stage in a hologram when it was time for the message? Or if you are like us at Cumberland and are a state away, we could have a hologram of Andy Stanley on our stage walking around. Welcome the Cisco On-Stage TelePresence Experience. This is the world’s first holographic video feed from Cisco.  Check this out.” You have to admit… this is pretty cool.  What do you think church will look like in another 10 years, technology-wise?  SOURCE

Mega-Church Hit Coming to New York
According to this press release:  Following its critically praised run at the Humana Festival of New American Plays, “This Beautiful City,” the latest work from the theater troupe the Civilians, has a premiere scheduled for New York. The Vineyard Theater at 108 East 15th Street in Manhattan announced that it would put on the show, a musical docudrama about the megachurch movement in Colorado Springs, Colo., sometime in early 2009, as part of a production with the Center Theater Group of Los Angeles.

    Todd Hunter Leaves Alpha
Another press release on EdStetzer.com:  Effective April 1, Todd Hunter (51) transitioned from his role of National Director at Alpha USA to launch a new ministry focused on helping pastors and lay leaders reach a generation that has become disenfranchised from the church.  More here.

    High Flying Multi-site Pastor
A private helicopter transported First Baptist Church of Orlando’s senior pastor, David Uth, from the main campus to the church’s new Ocoee satellite campus on Easter Sunday, March 23. Normally a 25-minute drive, the seven-minute flight across town enabled Uth to personally welcome the new campus’ congregation at their first meeting. Immediately following the main campus’ first service, Uth boarded the helicopter and flew to a special landing zone adjacent to Ocoee High School campus, the site of the new worship service. After greeting the congregation, Uth reboarded the helicopter for a return flight in time for the main campus’ 10:45 a.m. service. SOURCE.

    Today’s Obsure Quote:
Elizabeth Hasselbeck on “The View”:  I’m sure at some point Jeffrey Dahmer ate peanut butter sandwiches doesn’t make the fact that he ate people any less wrong.” Here’s the video… what do you think… good point, or “....WHAT?!” Watch below…

    Have a great day!

OK... not as provacative a title as yesterday's BUZZ, but check it out... I think you'll find some interesting things here today (at least I hope so!)

I’ve been asking for a private helicopter for a long time myself. Everybody just laughs at me…

I knew there was a reason I didn’t watch “the View.”

Excellent, First Orlando made MMI!  We had over 500 at the Easter launch of the Ocoee campus.  This is our first experience with multi-site but it’s not the last.  I am working with Pastor Uth on our next one.  Very excited about what God is doing in Orlando!

And the holographic - way cool!

“not as provacative a title as yesterday’s BUZZ” - Not even in the ballpark..

I think “church” technology wise in another 10 years will still be cutting edge in ways and yet still far behind in others. The faster technology advances - the slower the church can be to realize its value.

I had to laugh the other day when a friend was talking about how technology “savvvvy” I am.  Well, after she mentioned I blog, space, book, text, cell, photoshare, and etc… I couldn’t help but see her point. She does not even use email and thinks all home phones should be mounted onto the wall. Individuals are the church.. not the buildings.

Elizabeth made herself look pretty silly with that comment.  It doesn’t make her point, it made it look like her position was ridiculous.

I believe this aspect is growing everywhere as business owners learn what it is. For example, Phoenix is much more sophisticated in this regards than here in Tucson. I average small business owner is still way behind in their understanding such incidents. Symptoms ADHD
