Today’s Buzz: If the Church Had an Easy Button; Crystal Cathedral Vandal, and the Threshing Fl

If it was easy to grow a church, then 8 out of 10 would not fail in the first year...
That’s the first line of a great post at the Access:Elevation blog.  They continue:  There is a reason that even the most evangelistic churches stop growing. It may be a lack of room, lack of leadership, or a lack of vision. It may be a frame of reference for what the church should look like. It may be preconceived notions of what the church is according to our “parent’s church” or even the biggest and most successful churches in the country. Read more here.

    Upcoming Porn Sunday Dates
If you’re interested, I guess.  (Actually, this is a pretty vibrant ministry from xxxchurch.com)

    Crystal Cathedral Vandalized
A tagger etched the characters “B1R” with a sharp tool on 11 glass and granite surfaces at the Crystal Cathedral, causing about $30,000 in damage Police were called to the cathedral recently to investigate defaced areas including glass walls of the original chapel and prayer room, granite areas of floors and the memorial wall.  The damage consists of the etched characters B1R, and initial investigation indicates that it is the work of an individual tagger or an unidentified tagging crew.

Anybody Read “The Marketing of Evil”?
Evidently it is catching on with many church leaders.  I’d love to hear any reviews if anyone’s read it.  According to this article, “From small-town churches and prayer groups to one of America’s largest Presbyterian congregations, numbering over 10,000, Christian leaders and laymen are buying the book, sometimes by the case.” Hmmm… sounds interesting.

Christian Biographies for your PDA or Smartphone
Olive Tree Bible Software, an electronic publisher providing Bibles and study tools for PDA and Smartphone devices, continues to add to their catalogue of Christian eBooks. Among other encouraging Christian writings are a number of short biographies that are taken from spoken messages given by John Piper, Pastor for Preaching at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota since 1980.  You can get more information here...

Juanita Bynum Needs $200k for Waterfront “Threshing Floor”
Evidently she also has her hands on the Ark of the Covenant; and needs this money so that she can go before God on my behalf.  For some reason, she’s not allowed back to her current ‘threshing floor’.

Help! Juanita needs $200k for some waterfront property for her new threshing floor; the marketing of evil; a vandal hits the Crystal Cathedral; upcoming Porn Sunday dates, and if it's really that easy to grow a church, why are so many failing?

She needs to be careful moving the Ark of the Covenant.

I wonder how she got it anyway…

I had special Ark Moving Rubber Gloves (AMRG) that I sold her —-  I mean provided her for a seed donation.  I might have some extras if any of you are interested.

      WoW!

I have some poppy seed muffins that she can have, I think I also have bird seed that she can have.

But, alas, I don’t know how do sow so I don’t have any sowing supplies to spare. this also means I can’t sow.

I feel so helpless to help.

      Todd,

Thanks for the info on The Marketing of Evil.  I’m familiar with the author who possesses a wealth of wisdom.  I will buy the book.

You have a large readership so I thought I would warn the parents here to be careful about leaving out prescription drugs.  When I was young we didn’t have strong narcotics at all.  These days young children-teens- steal their parents pain killers and Pharm parties are popular.  Their reasoning is that they are not illegal but prescription.  Rush Limbaugh may have made oxy-conton popular because it’s one of the most popular drugs on the streets.  It’s cheap and as addictive as heroin or meth.

Maybe you could run a heads up for parents post.  Or maybe your readers could add their warnings here.

      Thanks and God Bless……….

How grevious this video is.  Sure it is easy to make fun of ....the mystery of the location of the Ark of Covenant (who knew it was so close), how I didn’t realize that what I need and what America needs…not what the World needs is Threshing Floor, where Dr. (honoray title) Bynum can safely interced for us.  And if I support this endeavor she will never fail to call out my name and the names of all those who help support this project, out to God.

Come on, I can understand her urgency, but talk about manipulative and down right dishonest.

Hey, for $200K I’ve got some waterfront land I’ll sell you.  Actually, it’s dry most of the year except when the river comes up.

This woman is scamming people in the name of the Lord.  How dangerous is that!

      Uh… yeah… right…

I grieve that so many might think that stuff like this is “normal Christian stuff”.

      It isn’t.
