    Don’t Mess with Snowmobilers
OK… I’ve learned my lesson.  Oh that Christians would be as passionate as some snowmobilers were after they read my Friday post on Why Christians Should Have Nothing to Do with Snowmobiles.  Of course, this was a satire piece… but many of the snowmobilers from the hardcoresledders website thought that we were a bunch of Christians who actually thought snowmobiling was sinful.  Actually, it’s kind of funny; and if you read the links over at their site, you’d see that many were actually embarrassed at how people reacted, then even more so after they found out it was pure satire.  And, for the record, the post was marked as ‘humor’.  Wow… if church leaders (other than the Slice crew) would react with such passion and abandon, we might have something.

    Speaking of Slice...
It looks like the SliceofLaodicea.com website is down for the count until they can reinstall their Wordpress software.  It appears that everything was lost.  The site went down last Thursday; and according to Ingrid, “Due to a series of unforeseen circumstances, Slice’s host let the site go down.” Not ever seen this happen with a host before, but I’d be looking for a new one.  For some reason, it appears her host totally deleted her Wordpress blog.  It’ll be interesting if she gives a little more detail when/if the site returns.  (And no… I didn’t hack it!)

Pastor Comes Forward to Report that He Was Sexually Abused (by Another Pastor)
This is just sad.  A high-profile pastor says he’s one of the sexual assault victims of another pastor—and he’s written a letter to the public. Pastor Mike Lewis of the New Life Center sent a letter to local media outlets Tuesday night. In the letter, he says he was one of the victims of Sandy Martin Cook more than ten years ago when he was a teenager.  Cook was and still is the pastor at the Shrewsbury Church of God.  Cook was arrested by West Virginia State Police on Monday. He’s charged with 3 counts of sexual abuse by a person of trust, and 44 counts of sexual assault in the 3rd degree.  During his arraignment in Kanawha County magistrate court, Cook said, “I’m scared to death.” According to the criminal complaint, the alleged crimes happened around 1994—and so far, three alleged victims have come forward in the case. All were between 13-16 years old at the time.  One victim stated he developed a close relationship with Cook—and that Cook told him it was “normal for father figures to perform/receive sexual acts on each other and that the performing of such acts was part of growing up.” SOURCE

Every Worship Leader Should Read This...
Perry Noble last week discussed things he thinks every worship leader should know.  Be sure to read the follow-up article from Perry’s worship leader, Lee McDerment.  Good stuff!

More on Maps, and Such As
Last week we mentioned the video from Miss South Carolina in the teen beauty contest.  She did make good on the Today Show. But that hasn’t stopped some from having a little fun with her.  Like here. And here... And here...

Enough for today.  I’m off for a ride on my snowmobile.

In today's buzz, I've learned a valuable lesson... Don't mess with snowmobilers. Also today... it's still quiet at Slice; a sad case of pastoral abuse; things every worship leader should know; and more and maps (and such as)...

Slice—A little investigating will show that Slice is hosted by ASPJR Hosting, a publicly traded company owned by Junior Asparagus. In a press release, Junior stated that someone must have hit a delete button “by mistake.”
