What Would You Be Willing To Attempt For God If You Knew You Could Not Fail?

    Bookmark and Share

Perry writes… First let me say that there are some reading this who have no idea what the answer to this question would be. My challenge for you is to take some time and figure it out–to wrestle it to the ground–seek the Lord on this one because Ephesians 2:10 tells us that He created us to do something GREAT for Him.

However, there are MANY reading this right now that know exactly what you would do…you just lack the courage to take a dive of faith. You say you are waiting on God…when, in actuality God is waiting on you! You say you are praying about it…but you really aren’t because every time you do God prompts you to take action–BUT because you don’t have all your questions answered you are SCARED and refuse to move.

What is it? What is “that thing” that you just can’t shake…you are consumed with it…and you want to try it SO BAD but you are SO AFRAID of failure? Keep in mind that II Timothy 1:7 says God has not given us a spirit of fear!!!

--Maybe you KNOW the Lord has called you to start a business!

--Maybe you KNOW the Lord has called you to take a risk and try something new in your existing ministry!

--Maybe you KNOW the Lord wants you to ask her out! (By the way dude…sending a text message or an e-mail to ask a girl out on a date is LAME…and you are a loser for doing so! BE A MAN!)

--Maybe you KNOW the Lord wants you to put Him first in your finances!

--Maybe you KNOW the Lord wants you to change your major!

--Maybe you KNOW the Lord wants you to stay at home with the kids!

--Maybe you KNOW the Lord wants you to turn down that promotion–EVEN though it means more money!

--Church planter, maybe you KNOW you are supposed to hire that staff member OR buy that building!

So, what would you be willing to attempt for God if you knew you could not fail?

Perry Noble had a great post a few weeks back that I've wanted to share with you. It's all written around the question, "What Would You Be Willing To Attempt For God If You Knew You Could Not Fail?" Read this and ask yourself, "What's holding me back?!"

Darn that Perry Noble for making me/us think.

Hubby and I are really seeking the answer to that question right now. (Yes, pray for us.)

I asked a question like this of my small group years ago. I put it this way. “If resources and time weren’t an issue, what would you do with your life for God?”

The fascinating thing is this. Most, if not all the responses, were things that we could do NOW… without worrying about time and resources. In the following weeks, many of those folks started doing those things.

Dear God, why did I have to see this?  Yeah, I know exactly what I would do, which is why I’m quitting my current ministry position and moving to New York for God only knows what, LOL.

I was encouraged to pray the exact prayer Peter asked of his group. Funny thing happened—within 2 years, I was doing exactly the things I had envisioned. Put it on paper and watch for God to work! I think these kinds of questions are also much better indicators of where your spiritual giftedness lies than the normal gift surveys we loved to use in the past. Answering these kinds of questions, I believe, will give us much better direction in discovering our ministry passions (and keep us from getting fired as volunteers!)

Alright! The three of you are of great encouragement. Way to be of service…

Love this question!! If I believe God is who He is and He calls me to do something, I cannot fail…so I obey and follow…and have been quickly moving into more and more ministry. Big steps and more to come!!!

Great question to always keep close at hand!
