It seems like the heavy beat in rap music would tickle the ear, good thing Ed is around to scratch!  This guy and those like him are popular because people want to worship the same gods he does….money and worldly culture.  Have at it.  Maybe cook up a quail dinner to eat while watching his next video…

      CF,

How do you know they are not?  God said whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  I guess I will have to trust that.  I don’t meet too many people who do not know about sin.  Again, you want to condemn him for what he doesn’t say.  I have met people from his church, who came to a saving knowledge of Christ through his church.

Is becoming a Christian that easy… was for me.  I said a little prayer and Jesus forgave my sin, entered my life and filled me with His Spirit.  I have personally seen thousands upon thousands of people saved…  They all called on the name of the Lord…

    4. ChurchSalt on Tue, July 13, 2010

Does anybody ever the whole counsel of God (and take it seriously) anymore?  Not everybody who says a prayer is saved.  If that were true there would be no warnings in Matthew 7 about those who called “Lord, Lord” but are lost.  There would be no encouragement from Paul to the Corinthians to examine their faith to see if is legitimate, and 1st John (written so that we “may know if we know Him” would be completely unnecessary!  These so-called pastors are making “a way” all right; they are making a way to your wallet…and they are blaspheming the name of God before all creation while doing it.  We are commanded to call out false teachers.  Just giving them a “pass” so we can all relax is wrong.

Church Salt, maybe you and some of the others here could just go to churches and let people know if they meant it well enough to get into heave.  You and CF and some others seem to be able to tell who is in and who is out.  In fact I am not sure we even need the Holy Spirit with you guys on board.  Sarcasm intended.

This conversation has become so pathetic.  Some of you need to get your Fundie undies out of a wad and lighten up.

Go ahead and question my salvation.  I won’t be around to read it since I’m unsubscribing from these comments.  I just can’t keep reading the pharisaical crap.

I think much like, “Godwin’s Law,” we need to call out the, “Pharisee Card,” technique for what it is.  http://issuesetc.org/2009/03/07/playing-the-pharisee-card/

all the commandments can be summed up in these 2… Love the Lord your God with all your heart mind and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself…. Jesus said it. Why argue about controversial issues, its a waste of time. Jesus is coming soon. I dont care what people are doing GOD IS IN CONTROL! Lets love one another with the brotherly/sisterly love we are called to do. There is no condemnation for those who are in CHrist. Wake up and love each other! God will work all things out for good! Thank you Lord for your Son who died on the cross for us. Help us to not argue about things that dont matter and give us the desire to reach the lost and love our neighbors! and love YOU more with each breath!

Is it loving to let others be deceived?  Is it obedient to ignore Biblical commands to call them out?  Is it better to be tolerant and “loving” or jealously defend the name of the one who redeemed us?  Somehow tolerance has been elevated above truth, love and loyalty.  And now those who do not embrace this tolerance are called pathetic and hateful?!?  Wow.
I have learned long ago that blog comments do not influence, they only enflame.  Please, folks….Go read your Bible.
      Bye.

Just because Ed Young and others like him stand behind a Pulpit and quote scripture and say “Jesus is the only way to Heaven” etc. does not mean that they are a Christian or a Pastor.

Ed Young and others like him have shown their true colors over and over again.

Jesus says you will know them by their fruit.  LOOK at the words and actions these people show.

Why people are SO afraid to call out False Teachers ( Which Ed and Joel and all the others are) I have no Idea.

God is not mocked, what a man shall show he shall also reap.

I have NO clue why anybody would defend this man and others like him.

Ed Young makes a mockery of the King of Kings

Wow, It’s amazing how a vidoe created to promote conference for pastors and church leaders can create such controversy among Christians.

Why do Christians insist on attacking one another?  My opinion is it is the devil creating spiritual warfare trying to bring the church down.

I’m not a pastor or a church leader but I liked the video.  But, I am biased because Ed Young (and fyi, he isn’t a Jr.) is my pastor and has been for the last 11 years.  Ed Young led me to Christ and he and Fellowship Church changed my life.  Also, I know and have seen hundreds of others who have experienced the same.

And anyone that questions whether or not he teaches the gospel obviously has never attended a service at FC.

Is he creative and different?  Yes and that is why I kept attending Fellowship and that is true for many others.  Is Ed and Fellowship for everyone?  Of course not, but there are a lot of church’s out there that don’t work for me.

Lighten up and let’s focus our energy and attention on the real enemy.

      Jeff:

“Why do Christians insist on attacking one another?  My opinion is it is the devil creating spiritual warfare trying to bring the church down.  “

Again, you have to remember that some of the people on that video are not Christians and others are heretics.  T.D. Jakes denies the Trinity, which means he worships another god.  Joel Osteen does not preach the full Gospel and instead preaches a self-help, life-change message.  We are called to mark them so people know right from wrong and Jesus’ name is not dragged through the mud (Romans 16:17).

“And anyone that questions whether or not he teaches the gospel obviously has never attended a service at FC.”

We see on the news him teaching people how to have their best sex lives now on The Colbert Report.  We see him bragging about his $10,000+ espresso machine in his 7000+ square foot house.  We see him dodging questions about use of church resources on news reports.  And, we see him making a fool of himself on videos like this.  Is it hard to understand how we do not see a man who is tending to his flock and preaching the Gospel, but instead seems to be more focused on other things?

“Lighten up and let’s focus our energy and attention on the real enemy. “

We’re warned in the Bible that quite often the enemy arises from within.

Thanks.  Thanks a ton.  Now I can’t get “A whole nother level…” out of my head.  I’ll probably wake up singing it…

      Jeff:

Fyi, he is a junior. His father is Ed Young Sr., longtime pastor of 2nd Baptist Houston. That makes him ed young Jr.

      Just saying.

    15. Jeff on Thu, July 15, 2010

      Shawn
Actually, Ed’s father is the Pastor at 2nd Baptist but his name is Homer Edwin Young and Ed is Edwin Barry Young so he isn’t a jr.

The only reason I point it out is that some people judge Ed based on things they have heard in the news, rumors, etc and they don’t even know enough to know something as basic as what his name is.
