It’s all good… Todd Bentley restoration process is on track…

Seriously, there is so much wrong with this paragraph, I wouldn’t know where to begin:
“Todd has taken full responsibility for the failure of his marriage. He and Jessa also admit that their relationship was premature and should not have happened the way it did. Both are adamant that it was not the cause for the failure of his first marriage, nor did they begin their relationship until Todd was convinced that his marriage was over. They have both expressed that it was wrong and premature. They do not want to try and cover this up even though they know many will never accept them for it. Even so, they are married now and are resolved to make the most of their marriage, their lives, and to continue to serve the Lord in the best way that they can.”
I completely understand. This happens all the time. But not to leaders who just pass go and collect $200. (Although it’s becoming more and more acceptable, especially in the Word of Faith movement, it seems).

Since I know you all were wondering, Todd Bentley has now taken full responsibility for his failed marriage. He's also remarried to the woman that he was seeing while he was married; but has acknowledged that that relationship was premature and shouldn't have happened the way it did. "Even so, they are married now and are resolved to make the most of their marriage, their lives, and to continue to serve the Lord in the best way that they can." This is from a new update on Bentley's restoration process. He'd also like you to send him some money if you can. And he promises not to blow the money on beer and condoms. (Sorry, that was my addition to the press release... Bentley never promised that)...

I think hypocritical bastards who think they can chase their hormones around without a second thought to the trail of brokenness left behind SUCK! (you wanna know what I really think?) I have written in my book about it and also in a title track on my album (http://www.sailorscott.com “Taking Us Down”).
The bottom line is that human marriage is a sacred picture of Jesus Christ and his Church-Bride. And when people (non-Christians, children involved, disillusioned church members, etc) see men proliferating this behavior, it takes the holiness and faithfulness and security that is the bond of Christ and hangs it in a dollar-store frame in the entrance of a brothel. And we wonder why the rising generations have no concept of either the abstract or the tangible tenants of Jesus.
We deserve every lick of fire that God drops on us for our laxity and selfishness. I would gladly go down in flames just to see His name restored to its rightful place. God help us all.

I agree Todd, so much wrong with that paragraph and the “process” that is more like a PR campaign Rick Joyner has started for Todd. Todd needs psychotherapy. The whole crew needs a dose of honesty and integrity.
Even worse than Todd’s process is Joyner’s reply to Lee Grady who challenged the integrity and value of Joyner’s process. “If you are such judge of this what gives you the credentials? What moves of God have you led? What have you built?” was Joyner’s push back.
And he finished with, “I think you owe Todd, myself, Bill, and Jack apologies for your presumptuous judgments. I think they should be as public as this letter was. If not, I feel that I will have to address this publicly, and I don’t think that is in your best interest.”
It’s definitely all on track.

How can anyone trust someone whose judgement is so impaired? But history tells us they will flock to the ear-ticklers.

My counsel to a public leader who has had a moral failure would be—
1) Get a real job and quit asking for money
2) Raise a family
3) Serve behind the scenes in a local church
4) Cultivate a transformative relationship with Jesus 5) Live a “normal life” for about 10-15 years

The guy in charge of Bentley’s restoration, Rick Joyner, is a false prophet and his ministry is turning into a cult. He has been dead wrong on MANY bold and sensational claims of “future” events. Now he claims that Jesus told him prophets only have to be accurate 66% of the time. He also claims that his visions, which he has put into novel form, are on par or even above Biblical Revelation. He believes there will be a spiritual war in the church between his people who he calls “blue coats” and others (you and me) who he calls “grey coats”.
The amazing thing is that people by the thousands are running headlong into this stuff.
I have several friends deeply involved in this movement and thay have been taught to cut off relations with anyone who doesn’t buy into Joyner’s claims. They aren’t very direct about it they just seem VERY detatched when anyone talks to them.

As a southerner, I’d be mighty proud to wear a gray coat. Especially if Joyner had a blue one.
Joyner is not serving Jesus, not when he places his declarations anywhere near the level of biblical revelation. And especially not serving Jesus when anyone, Bentley, Joyner, you or me, when one can call adultery a “premature” relationship.
Oh, and their relationship “should not have happened the way it did.” I guess the proper way adultery should happen is Bentley’s girl send Bentley’s wife to the front in Afghanistan where the fiercest fighting is. These folks are apalling.

Wow, we agree to… agree?
Perhaps this is why I am the way I am. I have had too many friends from my past that have drifted into cults, the new age and the Emergent church. This is why I’m such a stickler on doctrine… not only believing it, church leaders!!!, but teaching it and grounding people in it. If you aren’t hammering core doctrine home weekly then it is very easy for those who don’t have discernment to drift.
Back to Bentley though. HAs anyone heard of Marjoe Gortner? He is a guy who pretty much did the Rick Joyner, Benny Hinn thing for YEARS and it turned out he was an Atheist all along. He was ordained when he was FOUR years old !!! He made a fortune then later a documentary about how he duped everyone while he was still on the tent revival circuit. In the doc. it goes from the stage where he fakes evrything to back stage where he mocks the people who are following him. You can find his entire doc. on youtube and it is very much worth watching, as frustrating as it is.

My brothers you might want to rethink your criticism of Rick Joyner - this was also in his post:
“I had a dream two decades ago in which one of my children had fallen into a sewage ditch and could not get up. My child was being scorned and no one would help him. A man came along who helped my child get up and then cleaned up. In that dream, I felt as if I would give everything that I owned to this man who helped my child. Then I heard the voice of the Lord say, “Jim Bakker is My child. Will you help him?” Since that time, I have been devoted to helping any of God’s children that I could who have committed any trespass, because I knew there were few other things that would bring the Father’s favor.”
I agree that Todd Bently has more issues than a magazine rack, but God forbid if any of else ever ‘fell’, I think we’d be thankful for someone to treat us as kindly as Joyner.
