Kem Meyer did a great post yesterday on the 9 things that advertising firm Leo Burnett thinks will change in 2009. After looking at these... I'm wondering... how will YOUR church adapt? And does it need to?

#8 The End of Fact, is the most disturbing. While the church represents static bedrock, the rest of the world believes that the truth the flexible according to “how I feel”.

It makes our work even more important.

      Mark:

I agree entirely.  That was the one thing that caught my attention that is already permeating churches here in America.  We’re about to see a generation that is programmed almost outright to reject the supremacy and simplicity found in something like John 14:6.

The rest of this stuff is fine for sales guys, marketroids, and people who need to advertise.  But I see the timelessness of truth in the church as being paramount.

While we may believe we are holding onto timeless truth we can’t expect others to accept the veracity of these claims.

Instead we may need to establish the plausibility and possibility of all our beliefs if others are to hear them.
