I won’t allow somebody’s obvious self-promotion to hijack a thread.
Todd, I have issues with the billboard. If I did not see the word “church” on the billboard, I would not know the difference between and an ad for some booty joint. We’re supposed to look different or peculiar, right?
And another poster hit the hammer on the head regarding the ridiculous misuse of sex as a means to fill the seats. We’re no better than a reality show when we pull this. JMO.

Those who have to have a “hook” to draw a crowd, tend to lose the “crowd” over time to a better hook!
Those worth listening to are worth listening to for a reason, which is deeper than trends, gimmics, and billboards.

All I know is this: it makes me laugh when I see this type of thing, because all I hear these days is “Be creative!”
I’ve lost count of how many churches are using the same graphics and same series title.

In a effort to be palitable, the church has gone away from what seperated us from the world. when the church has to go to great measures to promote itself i wonder if the Holy Spirit is present. having church signs in front of your church adverstising who you are isn’t wrong… but when the church goes to the extreme and promote this type of material to gain attandance…imo that’s wrong…
“A fire never needs to advertise it’s hot or burning… the only thing a fire has to do is continue to burn and its heat would let others know it’s hot”… a church only has to preach Christ and He would do the drawing… He said, “If He be lifted up, He would draw all men unto Himself…”
get back to preaching Christ and leave the advertisement to the secular world…
