KJV Only Preacher Tazed at Border Patrol:  You Can’t Make This Stuff Up!

    Bookmark and Share

Remember this guy? Well, this week he had a little altercation with the border patrol. So, now I guess we can add the border patrol to list of those people this preacher doesn't like (Perry Noble, and men who pisseth sitting down are also on his list).

Here's the CNN report on this incident.

This might be the only time allowable by scripture to pisseth sitting down. I'm just saying that tazer might do that. (Thanks to @kentshaffer for the heads up on this one!)

Okay, let’s see….1) the 4th amendment supercedes the command of Scripture to obey authority?  2) notice the use of his word “revile”?  Hmmmm…where else have I heard that word before??  3) if his bladder was that full, believe me, he would have involuntarily relieved himself when he was tazed.  4) why is that he’s been stopped several time before?  Sounds pretty cockamamie to me.

The more videos I’ve watched, the less I feel bad for the dude.

And does anyone else see an uncanny resemblance to Jack Shepherd (Matthew Fox) on Lost?  Especially from the season finale with his face all bloody.

Just let them search the vehicle if you’ve got nothing to hide.

Here’s a video of actual footage from the confrontation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?p=411D86B36B802F1D&index=20&feature=PlayList&v=bJF5cUWXA_A

I haven’t watched the whole video yet.  I downloaded to watch later.  I did go to his blog site (wife’s blog site) and I saw the camcorder on the dash board of his car.  So let me ask this question…

Why is he recording this in the first place?  He was going through BP…did he know this was coming, was he trying to do this?  Maybe I just need to watch the video, but from the outside looking in it doesn’t smell right.

    6. Matthew Rathbun on Sat, May 16, 2009

I only had to watch one other video of his “sermon” to realize that this “beating” was most likely well deserved.

This is the image that non-believers remember.  His pissy sermon is why good people, hate us.

I didn’t watch the entire video, but I wonder if the camera panned around to see the three people sitting in the congregation.

I don’t know what scares me more - that this guy is a “pastor” or that he has followers.

The idea that if we’re not doing anything wrong we shouldn’t mind being searched is what leads to warrantless wiretapping. What’s next? Helicopters overhead? GPS tracking of every American’s car?  Examination of every email and web posting? Peeping into bedrooms to see if we can catch teenagers having sex?

I am surprised no one has picked up the link between immigration and border patrol behavior.  It’s pretty much open season on illegal aliens, and ironically for this guy evangelical Christians have been in the vanguard encouraging this kind of police behavior.

No matter what you think about this guy and how he handled the situation, if his words are 100% true his rights were violated and he should would seek legal counsel.

    9. Peter Hamm on Sun, May 17, 2009

Steve writes “ ...if his words are 100% true… “

Ah, therein lies the rub! Remember that this is an individual who ascribes great theological import to the position I take when relieving myself… I would say his grasp on reality is suspect at best.

    10. Steve on Sun, May 17, 2009

That is why I prefaced my next sentence with, if they are 100% true.

Do our rights as American citizens supercede our responsibilities as Christians?

Where in the Bible are Christians promised freedom from oppressive government intrusion? intrusive government oppression?

    12. Kenny on Mon, May 18, 2009

....no wonder the world laughs at the “church” and lost people refuse to listen to the gospel. Surely, God weeps at this display of un-Christlike behavior.

    13. Thomas on Mon, May 18, 2009

I have crossed the border muchas veces. Never ever had a problem with the Border Patrol. Some are not very jovial and by the way, I have been search several times and did not complain or resist.. This guys has some major issues with authority and I would say it begins the Authorized Version.

    14. RICHARD TOSH on Mon, May 18, 2009

So, now you’re blaming the AV?  I’ve used it since day-one and the only conflict I find is the guy who blames it for the ills of the world….like your comment.  I don’t do these things and doubt you do, either but I don’t blame the NIV for your insensitivity…

    15. keith on Mon, May 18, 2009

I’m seriously disturbed by the number of comments on this subject that seem to indicate that this guy “got what he deserved” and this is linked to their personal dislike of him (“weirdo,” “uses the Authorized Version,” and comments about his sermons).

What does his religious belief have to do with the behavior of the BP? CNN notes that the BP is doing their own internal investigation on the agents’ actions, as well they should.

I don’t agree with the pastor’s sermon style or content or ‘weird’ ideas but all of that is IRRELEVANT to the legality or appropriateness of the deputized, taxpayer-funded BP agents.
