And no, I wasn’t the one faking Robert Schuler’s Twitter. I’m too busy twittering for my dog.
Yes, it's true... and it's made the press. According to the Attorney for The Crystal Cathedral, someone was actually taking the time to pose as Robert Schuller on Twitter. According to the attorney, someone had been using copyrighted images and trademarked sayings of the televangelist on Twitter. The account has been suspended by Twitter after the poser was able to amass a couple thousand followers (which is more than currently watch the Hour of Power). (Sorry, couldn't resist that one).
Schuler himself, however, took it all in stride: ""I was honored that anybody thought my material was good enough to be repeated," Schuller told The Associated Press. "Maybe I should find out the name of the person and I could hire them as a ghostwriter, look for the positive in the negative."
Dang it. How does that guy stay SO stinkin' positive?...

Schuller’s formula is pretty easy to fake, after all:
-Read, “positive,” Bible verse.
-Interject funny story.
-Give upbeat maxim for the day.
-Talk about favorite psychologist.
-Give a story of determination, perseverance, and overcoming odds.
-Talk about the self.
-Give another illustration.
-Tie together pop psychology with, “god.”
-Profit!

Lol CS, that’s good. Identity theft on the net seems to be happening alot lately. Didn’t someone else fake the Pope on Facebook recently?

Sounds like a recipe for a good Friday fakeout column: the fake Schuller and the fake pope become fake Scientologists and open up the Travolta/Cruise Memorial Nut Farm.
