Steven Curtis Chapman Family Finds Strength in Their Faith

The Steven Curtis Chapman family is finding strength in their faith, as seen in this news report from the funeral of their daughter, Maria. Let's continue to remember the Chapmans in prayer. I had a chance to meet Steven Curtis a couple of years ago, and my heart continues to go out to him and his family.

I'm reminded of the lyrics Steven Curtis penned many years ago. They are still so very true in a very different way:

His Strength is Perfect
by Steven Curtis Chapman

I can do all things
Through Christ who gives me strength,
But sometimes I wonder what He can do through me;
No great success to show, No glory on my own,
Yet in my weakness He is there to let me know . . .

CHORUS
His strength is perfect when our strength is gone;
He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on.
Raised in His power, the weak become strong;
His strength is perfect, His strength is perfect.

We can only know
The power that He holds
When we truly see how deep our weakness goes;
His strength in us begins
Where ours comes to an end.
He hears our humble cry and proves again . . .

    Definitely holding the Chapmans in our prayers. This song is filled with Hope that is only found in Him and is Him.

    This song is one of my favorites still to this day. It ministered to me when paralyzed and then later had limited use of my arms, legs, hands and feet. It ministers still even in being healed.

    There is nothing that compares to His strength. The words ministered again in being my own dad’s caregiver and realizing when he took his last breath on earth. While I had always looked to my daddy for strength a daddy can provide his daughter.... he always reminded me that I had only ONE Father. That relationship was the most important.

    As I said at the beginning - holding the Chapmans and relying on Hope to see them through.

    Caleb’s statement that God chose to heal Maria in a way they didn’t like - but that God will heal his brother in a way they’ll all like a lot.

    This brought tears to my eyes.

    May it be so, Lord!  Bring a special healing to this young man.  Show him your love and forgiveness, let an outpouring through friends, family, and strangers be unleashed, and may he rejoice in You because of it.

    The infinate love of the Master flows through the love and strength that the body of Christ was created to give.  May that love and strength be extended to the Chapman family as you, Steven have extended to so many through the years.  I believe we all have been touched in someway by your music and your genuine love for God.  I pray that you find rest as you flow in the love and strength from the Body of Christ as we extend our prayers towards heaven for you and your family.  You are greatly loved!

    Death is the beginning...NOT THE END!!
    Any loss brings us sadness and grief, but for the soul that has gone on to be with their maker...It can only be GREAT JOY!
