The Fine Line:  Being “In” the World, But Not “Of” It…

What does it mean to be in the world but not of the world? Kary Oberbrunner has written a new book called "The Fine Line" that addresses this issue. According to Kary, "Our difference from the world, not our similarity to it sets us apart. But even though Christ followers are called to be different, we’re also called to transform the world. Here lies the tension. We can’t be so far removed from the world that we lose contact, and we can’t be so much like the world that we’re no different from it." Kary has written a book that, he admits, leaves him with more questions than answers. But that's ok. Every generation must answer the most basic ethical question of the Christian faith, “What does it mean to be in the world, but not of it?” Answering correctly yields relevance, something the world deeply desires, but rarely sees. The Fine Line re-envisions what it means to integrate Christianity with culture for a whole new generation. Watch this video where Kary shares his heart about the book...
