For nearly a decade, members of Ripon's First Congregational Church bared their souls to Pastor Randall Radic. But clearly it didn't work both ways. There were certain things he wasn't telling them. That became obvious a year ago, when Radic pleaded guilty to betraying his flock and secretly selling the church and its rectory out from under them. He used the money to buy himself a brand-new black BMW and a laptop -- exploits he later chronicled in a cheeky, almost gleeful blog about his double life as a sinner.
“We didn’t know anything until we got a call from the bank that he had bought a BMW,” said David Prater, who led the church board during Radic’s tenure. “He drove that car right down Main Street.”
Irate parishioners had been rooting for a long prison term of up to 16 months at his sentencing, set for Thursday.
But Radic’s lawyer said last week that the 54-year-old former pastor, who spent six months in jail awaiting trial, will not have to serve any more time behind bars because he agreed to testify about the alleged murder confession of a jailmate.
In the meantime, ownership of some of the church property is still tied up in lawsuits.

Well now, what do you say to something this? That certainly shoots the reference? How do you sell the church? What polity gave him that kind of authority, and what nincompoop bought it?
He forged papers, and lied. Could it be Satan?
HahHAHAHAHAHA .... oh wait it’s only THURSDAY! Stuff like this makes me want to introduce myself as an oilchange specialist at WALMART…
What I can’t understand is that they apparently know he forged papers to allow him to illegally sell the property but the congregation is stil having trouble getting it back in their name.
The guy before us at our church, did this to a church in Florida. He got the church to switch from congregational rule to elder rule, made himself one, made sure he was a check signer and then picked off the elders one by one.
When he was the last one, he quick claimed the deed for $5.00 and walked away with the church property. To this day, he collects rent for the building to another church.
He came to our church, and was doing the same thing, until someone figured it out.
When the sheriff came to find him, he was busy changing all the church locks.
We came to a terribly wounded congregation, because part of his MO was to divide and conquer. People who were hoodwinked, turned against friendships that had been years in the making.
I think this is called a “Charlatan” not a pastor! I never could figure how he got away with it because of IRS non profit law, which clearly states that no one can benefit from a non profit’s assets.
