What Bible version is right for you? Are you looking for a serious Bible-study version? How about one that is gender neutral? Or one that was translated by a group rather than an individual? Check out this new website to find the perfect version for you. (If you're a KJV only person, you might want to skip this website)...
So… what’s your favorite version?

Very nice, thank you for this.

As some others answered well, *which* bible is the *best* is not really possible to determine objectively. *However,* it *is* possible to make educated determinations about which are “better” bibles and which are “less good”.
The KJV suffers major drawbacks in 3 areas:
1) the source texts used in translation lack the last 400 years of archaeological discoveries (this also applies to the NKJV)
2) scholarship has improved in the last 400 years so that translation today is much more accurate than it was 400 years ago
3) the English language has changed significantly in 400 years, so much so that passages in the KJV now hold a significantly different meaning than originally.
The NKJV resolves points 2 & 3, but not the very important point #1. Most modern, scholarly translations make use of source texts of *much* greater authenticity and authority than the so-called “Textus Receptus” used by the original translators of the KJV and also the translators of the NKJV.
I was very pleased to find this site.I wanted to thank you for this great read!! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it and I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!

My favorite to use most any time is the New Living. If I get really excited about a revelation, I then break out the NRSV, NASB, and the four volume set to make sure my revelation isn’t based on a bad translation.
