Wrestling with Perry Noble

Recently, Perry Noble listed a bunch of questions that he is wrestling with... Do you ever wrestle with the same questions? I know I do.
Here are some of Perry’s questions:
#1 - Is there anything in my life that I need to stop doing?
#2 - Is there anything in my life that I should start doing?
(By the way…the answer to #2 is YES…but in order for it to happen I REALLY need to wrestle with question #1!)
#4 - How can I be more efficient in the way I use my time?
#5 - How can I be a better husband?
#6 - How can I be a better father?
#9 - How can we as a church continue to assist people in taking their next step with Christ?

Post Your Comments:Definitely some good questions to wrestle with. One question I’ve (we’ve) been wrestling is - “Are we really willing to leave here if God directs us to?” We say we are. We think we are. But are we really? And also… “Are we willing to support the newbie when he arrives?” Even if he might do things differently than we think needs to be done. (Don’t know this - just thinking outloud). There are many questions when individuals are in shoes likes ours. A personal one for me as of late is, “Am I ready to take the whole writing thing to another level?” I am after all a bumbling fool.
#9 - How can we as a church continue to assist people in taking their next step with Christ?
I’ve been wrestling with this. We have a lot of new Christians with huge areas in their life that will inhibit growth if they aren’t dealt with.
(Like living together) So, somewhere in their journey a challenge to holiness is going to be a part of this.
On the other side, we aren’t the Holy
Spirit and if they’ve made a heart conversion, I know that He will convict of sin and I need to love them as they take this journey, while still willing to confront.
It’s a tight rope walk at times. And I do see growth and things happening.
But time is always a big rub too. How to follow up on all these babies, when we have so few mature believers to do the work of ministry? Sometimes I feel like we are doing the work of 4 staff members.
Anyone else struggling with this.
My answer so far is to pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send the laborers. But at time I’m very frustrated AND tired.
I’ve been wrestling with the whole issue of who owns my church. I’ve sensed the Lord saying, ever-so-gently, “I want my church back!”
In other words, what does it mean to be an under-shepherd? When should I be hands-on vs. hands-off?
I have been wrestling with this question: How do you know when to be faithful with where the Lord has put you versus being faithful to what the Lord has put in your heart?
