Daily Innovation, Ministry Insights, and Thoughts from Todd Rhoades for Pastors and Church Leaders
Paul Peterson, at his blog "A Day in the Life of a Pastor" sites the top five reasons that he thinks leaders fail. Take a look at his list; read his thoughts and offer your input. Do you think these five are the biggest reasons for failure? What would you add or take off of Paul's list?
1. They disconnect from the people they are leading.
2. They become proud and refuse to be questioned.
3. They are not authentic.
4. They are authentic.
5. They do to much.
To understand Paul’s points, you’ll need to read his comments about each one (especially 3 & 4). Take a read and then share what you think…

One is missing… They dis-connect from the One they are following.
It does NOT go without saying that those in full-time ministry seek God with a passion. We need to do this and check ourselves on it constantly.
To the last post...AMEN and AMEN!!!
How about “They don’t do enough” I know of Pastors who are coasting on past glories and recycled sermons, so they spend most of their time online or golfing, not getting a fresh word from the Lord.
I’m glad that I know the people I know, Dr. Bob, because I honestly don’t know any of those pastors. I’ve heard of ‘em, don’t know ‘em though. The ones I know are the hardest working people in the world.
Pastor’s who do this:
“They become proud and refuse to be questioned.”
Wonder why their people become proud and refuse to be questioned?
